In 1952 Othmar Schneider brought back gold and silver medals for Alpine skiing from the Winter Olympic Games in Oslo. After becoming a ski school director in Michigan and in Chile he returned to Lech and built the Hotel Kristiania.

The hotel offers an understated sophistication running alongside impeccable personal service with a homely Austrian hospitality.

The 29 bedrooms and suites are each individually decorated with original pieces of art and striking yet tasteful colours. All rooms have wonderful views over the village of Lech and towards the Alps.

The hotel operates a chauffeur-driven transfer service to and from the ski lifts.

Enjoy an aperitif after a day on the pistes whilst relaxing on the sun deck and then make your way to the restaurant where there are three dining rooms in which your taste buds can be left tingling in anticipation.

The Kristiania a la carte restaurant with its canopied cooking range makes the ideal setting for fine dining whilst The Kaminzimmer with its open fireplace has been designed for casual dining and relaxed get togethers.

Wherever you choose to enjoy your evening meal, look forward to seeing art on a plate and sampling the treasures of the hotels cellar.

With therapeutic massage treatments available in your room there is no need to go down to the spa area, but if you do the sauna and hot whirlpool contrast with the snow and ice and you feel like you are in the very centre of wellbeing – not to be missed!
