Superdolomiti ski area...
and skiing the Sella Ronda…
Your lift pass covers the entire Dolomiti Superski area which features 12 skiing
areas, 450 lifts and up to 1,220km of pistes.
The lift system includes a unique circular ski route called the Sella Ronda, which
leads round the mighty Sella Massif and links the four valleys of Gardena, Fassa,
Livinallongo and Badia.
The Sella Ronda is made up of a series of ski-lifts and downhill runs, all linked to
one another and set against a background of woods, rocky peaks and
expanses of snow. You can travel in a clockwise or anti-clockwise
direction - both are well sign-posted at every junction.
The best skiing can be found by going off the Sella Ronda and exploring one or
two of the individual resorts before continuing on your journey.
Our
accommodation is situated in Val Gardena and Alta Badia, two of the 12 ski
areas covered by the Superdolomiti pass.
With only 2% of visitors coming from the UK, South Tyrol is a secret ski spot, waiting
to be discovered, so this is definitely the place to come to escape crowded
slopes and lift queues.
alpine gourmet cuisine…..
As well as offering fabulous skiing and scenery you will be staying in the gourmet centre of Italy. The South Tyrol province has 16 Michelin starred restaurants with a total of 18 stars among them. This area has become famous for its Alpine gourmet cuisine featuring an international flavour.
The local food is a combination of Italian and Austrian cuisine with a strong Ladin
influence. Traditional dishes include a delicious barley soup called Panicia and
turtres which are pancakes filled with spinach and ricotta.
Many of the region’s classic dishes have been passed down from generation to
generation, and as the area has become renowned for it’s cuisine, the
traditional recipes have been adapted to meet the needs of modern tastes
and trends.
locally sourced wines...
South Tyrol’s vast range of microclimates allows most high quality grape varieties
to be cultivated there, white wines being particularly popular due to their intense
aromas and elegance - indeed, the “Gewürztraminer” grape originated in the
village of Tramin/Termeno in the south of this region.
All hotels chosen by “peak experience” offer an outstanding selection of local
and international wines. Hotel Sun Valley invites you to wine-tasting evenings with
the Sommelier and Hotel La Perla boasts one of the largest wine cellars in Europe.
